What does red and white phosphorus have such different properties?
Two important allotropes of phosphorus are white and red. White phosphorus, P4, has a melting point of 44.1 C and spontaneously reacts with oxygen. Red phosphorus, a network solid, melts at 280 C and is stable in air. Use your knowledge or intermolecular and intramolecular bonding to explain why these two forms of the same element have such different properties?
White phosphorus, or yellow phosphorus, or simply tetraphosphorus (P4) exists as molecules made up of four atoms. The tetrahedral arrangement results in ring strain and instability. The molecule is described as consisting of six single P-P bonds. Two different crystalline forms are known. The α form, which is stable under standard conditions, has a body-centered cubic crystal structure. It transforms reversibly into the β form at 195.2 K. The β form is believed to have a hexagonal crystal structure.
Red phosphorus may be formed by heating white phosphorus to 250 °C (482°F) or by exposing white phosphorus to sunlight. Red phosphorus exists as an amorphous network. Upon further heating, the amorphous red phosphorus crystallizes. Red phosphorus does not ignite in air at temperatures below 240 °C, whereas white phosphorus ignites at about 30 °C.

Because the white wines have the grape juice which only uses the juice and which has the skins and seeds and stems removed beforehand, which is why it is the plain white color.
This is one of the differences but if you want to know whether or not to get a red wine gift basket, then you will also want to know that one of the major differences between the red and white wines is that the red wines are much thicker and more potent. When people have a fancy steak dinner, they should be pairing the meal with a red wine because it is going to complement the meal.
If they were to have a white wine, you could barely taste the wine because the taste of the meal would be overwhelming. The white wines are more suitable with salads and lighter meals where it is going to be complementary instead of bothering.
